Ben Walker, a local resident from Benwell, was unemployed for over 2 years, on Job Seekers Allowance and was struggling to find employment so he decided to set up his own business. He visited FIN, and registered for the Newcastle Enterprise Package to help him gain more knowledge and helpful business advice.

Ben decided to start his own business because he wanted to secure a long term future for himself and his family, give himself a new challenge and gain more recognition within the business community. Ben has opened a unit on the Team Valley Trading Estate and has been trading for over 12 months. He specialises in shop signs, A-boards, window graphics, frosting, post & board, built lettering, van graphics, health & safety signage, halo & led, internal signage and point of sale material.

Ben was grateful for the help and support offered by FIN and said:

"I attended the Newcastle Enterprise Workshops through FIN and they gave me help and advice through all aspects of business start up. Without the help of my advisor, Chris Dawson, I would never have been able to start my business."

He continued: "The hardest part has been finding customers and building up a good client database during the current financial climate".

Ben hopes to open more offices in Cumbria and Scotland to expand his brand further and make Sign Terminal a nationwide name.
