We can maximise your investment capabilities and minimise your exposure to risk...
The Fund makes equity investments between £25,000 and £150,000 and can provide further financing up to an aggregate of £200,000 after nine months has elapsed.
The Fund is managed by an experienced team including a Fund Manager and an independent Investment Committee made up of corporate financiers and successful entrepreneurs/investors.
The principal criterion of the Fund is that each investment must match an equivalent investment from a private individual(s) on the same terms and conditions (pari passu). The Fund cannot invest more than the private sector element but it may be less and whilst on most occasions it will be at the same time, it can invest up to no more than two months after private investment.
By matching your investment, the Fund gives you the opportunity to complete larger deals than you might otherwise expect or it will allow your available capital to be spread over more investments.
The Fund is unable to provide "investment advice" but it can provide you with the following advantages:
- A well-developed set of investment documents, designed to protect the interests of all shareholders, which will save you time and cost when completing an investment.
- If you have the experience to act as a non-executive director and mentor to the company you can do so with minimal interference from the Fund.
- If you are new to investing or do not have sufficient time to monitor your own investments, the Fund can help to bridge that gap.
Investment Disclaimer
Investment in new business carries high risks as well as the possibility of high rewards. It is highly speculative and potential investors should be aware that no established market exists for the trading of shares in private companies. Before investing in a project about which information is given, potential investors are strongly advised to take advice from a person, authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 ("FSMA"), who specialises in advising on investments of this kind. Neither Investor Forum nor Tyne and Wear Enterprise Trust Limited ("Entrust") can advise on the merits or risk of investment and is not authorised to arrange transactions or approve financial promotions under FSMA. Entrust is an exempt body for the purposes of arranging deals in investments under statutory instrument 1201 of 2001 as a non-profit making organisation. This bulletin has not been approved by an authorised person within the meaning of FSMA and has been circulated by Entrust in its capacity as an exempt person for the purposes of Article 16 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005.
